Prvi S model u koji je ugrađen dizel motor, novi SQ5 pokreće 3.0-litarski TDI biturbo V6 sa 313 KS i 479 NM koji stvara između 1,450 i 2,800 obrtnog momenta. Novi SQ5 dostiže 0-100 km/h za 5,1 sekunda, uz maksimalnu brzinu od 249 km/h. Osmostepeni Tiptronic zajedno sa sistemom na sva četiri točka iz Audija Quattro pomaže SUV-u da potrošnju spusti na 9l/100km.
